WHEN ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, LET GO & LET GOD!

The Greatest lesson of my life learned this year has revolved around the slogan, “Let Go & Let God”, a notion that involves relinquishing an attachment, fear and or someone. Recently, I decided to Let Go of some things that were weighing me down. Some were material goods, personal attachments and some were my own hangups that seem to be holding me back.

Most stress in our lives results from hanging on to beliefs, things & people in striving to please and or hang on to them.  I’ve decided to to make the shift away from unhealthy attachments and replace it with contentment.  We’ve all been hurt. You cannot be an adult or person today who hasn’t experienced some kind of pain. But what we do with that hurt is more important than the hurt itself.let it go pic

Here are 3 ways to Let It Go!!

1-Express your pain & responsibility-Express the pain you are experiencing whether it is directly to the other person or venting to a friend or write it in a journal or letter. Get it all out of your system.

2-Stop being the victim & blaming others (the Blame Game)
Get over it! Your feelings are just one part of the larger picture which is all interwoven and complex. Take responsibility for your own happiness & do not put such power into the hands of things and or others.

3-Make the decision to let it go
Forgive them & yourself.  Make the decision to stop reliving the past & stop going over the details of the story in your head. You can’t undo the past, all you can do is live one day at a time.  Forgiveness is a way of saying, ” I want to move forward in my life and welcome joy back into it.

Moving forward in life & welcoming joy back into it is a process. You may need to forgive yourself for past hurts and reckless decisions.  Remember, everyday, you choose to hold on to Stuff is another load to carry!  So, do me a Great Big Favor, Let Go & Let God!!

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles.  And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith” . Heb.12:1
