Children are a blessing from the Lord (Ps. 127:3-5). Motherhood is a great honor and privilege, yet it is also synonymous with servanthood. WE are called upon to unselfishly meet the needs of our families. I remember when mom would stay awake at night when I was sick, spending her time and money on myself, siblings and extended family, preparing meals putting others before herself.
Never complaining but knowing there were times when she was exhausted –working all day and coming home to four children and a husband. Mom was a true example of servanthood and humility. And it was her humility that lead Mom to her eternal reward in heaven.
Motherhood is a willingness to stoop down and get your hands dirty, any time of the day and or hour. Dying to your own desires and pouring your life into someone else becoming like Christ and creating a godly legacy that will carry on for generations to come.
In giving us children, God places us in a position of both leadership and service. He calls us to give up our lives for someone else’s sake–to abandon our own desires and put our child’s interests first. Yet, according to His perfect design, it is through this selflessness that we can become truly fulfilled.
Thank you Mothers for your unselfish love & generous spirit to family, community & children everywhere. I am so thankful that God made mothers!
